The title refers to one of the old harbor neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, La Boca del Riachuelo - The Mouth of the Brook - or simply La Boca, with houses covered in copper like ships and mounted on stilts overlooking the sea.

Sing along with EDMUNDO RIVERO and the OSVALDO TARANTINO orchestra

CASTELLANO
ENGLISH

yo sigo esperando...
Niebla del Riachuelo...
de ese amor para siempre
me vas alejando...

Cloudy anchorage where stay immersed
ships which have to rest forever in the docks...
shadows growing bigger in the night of pain...
shipwrecks from the world that have lost the heart...
Bridges and ropes where the wind comes to howl...
coal carriers which will never weigh anchor...
Grim cemetery of boats which, while dying...
keep dreaming that they sail into the sea...

Fog of the Riachuelo...
anchored to the memory
I continue waiting...
Fog of the Riachuelo...
from that love forever
you are drifting me away...
She never came back...
I never saw her again...
her voice never again called my name next to me...
... that same voice which said, "Good bye."

Dream, sailor, with your old brigantine,
drown your nostalgias in the silent cafe...
It rains on the harbor, meanwhile my song,
rains slowly on your dispair...
Anchors that will never have to weigh again...
Planks of barges without moorings to release...
Sad caravan without aim nor illusion,
like an imprisoned boat in the "bottle of a cheap restaurant"...
